Sleuth Con is our all-series book convention within our regular Nancy Drew convention. Many of our members collect other series books or would like to learn more about the various series so we're adding in presentations and panels to cover those kinds of series for the enjoyment of our members and also for all you series book fans out there who wish you had a convention like this to attend every year! They are including the convention rate for 3 pre and 3 post days before/after June 2-8 for anyone coming in early or staying later. A Few Clues To The Mystery: 2014 will find us celebrating Nancy Drew at our 14th annual convention in San Diego with our combined all-series book Sleuth Con II taking place Thurs.-Sat. Our themes range from San Diego set Nancy Drew modern books to some themes at various parties and events involving classic Nancy Drew books with inventor themes to tie into our Tom Swift connection for Sleuth Con II. Evening: Wrapping up our exciting week in San Diego will be our vintage 30s "Sleuthpunk"/"Steampunk" mystery gala featuring Nancy Drew and some of your favorite series book heroes and heroines and a host of villains too! Go back in time to "sleuth-tacular" mysteries and adventures from the 1930s series books for an evening of mystery and mayhem as you play sleuth to solve the mystery. Dress in vintage garb for a "Sleuthpunk" look and/or add in a little Steampunk with a great Tom Swift/Inventor/Victorian influence. Come in costume as your favorite character or villain from a 30s series book - we'll have a costume contest. Nancy Drew & Series Book Gift Exchange: If you want to participate in our Nancy Drew gift exchange we have three tables--1 for handcrafted Nancy Drew gifts and a 2nd for store bought Nancy Drew gifts. The 3rd table will be for non-Nancy Drew series book theme gifts. Store bought items must be Nancy Drew items. Handcrafted gifts must feature Nancy Drew imagery. The all-series table can feature vintage or handcrafted non-Nancy Drew series related items. Gifts are wrapped anonymously and left on the appropriate table. They are to be marked "for a man/woman" if gender specific.
