Nancy Drew 101: Identifying Printings and Sleuthing for Values

With stacks of blues and tweeds plus a few yellow spines and a paperback or two, what is a collector to do? Since 1930, the Nancy Drew
series and various spin offs have gone through a variety of styles and makeovers. The first volume, The Secret of the Old Clock has gone
through over 116 printings. Keeping up is quite a task–for some, this rivals the most baffling of Nancy Drew’s mysteries.
Out on the market are several excellent sources for helping one identify just what they hold in their musty attics and special
sleuthworthy displays. John Axe’s All About Collecting Girls’ Series Books is a fabulous volume for viewing all of the different covers for the
classic 56 Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. Some identification and values are given in brief. For detailed printing information, David Farah’s
Farah’s Guide offers the collector a how to on narrowing down each and every printing that is humanly possible given printing information and
much information supplied by collectors over the years to David. It is considered the “bible” for printing information on Nancy Drew by
collectors. Currently, the 12th edition was just published with up to date printing info and values. You can visit David’s site at:
