Sleuth Craft Corner: By Kathleen Berman
Make a notebook for sleuthing--write down some clues! Here's how: 1. Buy a small spiral notebook about 5 ˝” by 4 inches. 2. Lay the notebook open flat. 3. Cut a piece of felt to fit the notebook. The spiral rings will take up extra room, so be sure to test the size with the notebook open and shut. My piece of felt was about 5 ˝” by 9 ˝”, but note that the size of the felt will vary with the size of the spiral ring. 4. Using an old child’s paintbrush, I spread a thin, even layer of tacky glue on one outside cover of the notebook. Carefully place the felt covering on this side. Shut the notebook with the covered side down and spread the glue on the other outside cover. Pull the felt around and gently press into place, bringing the end of the felt to the end of the cover. Be careful not to glue the pages of the notebook together. 5. Decorate your notebook with a sleuthing motif! Note: Leather, cloth and paper can also be used to decorate your notebook.
