Our feature guest columnists will be adding their wealth of knowledge of Nancy Drew and related series books in their special columns--an example is Renee Walker's column: 'The Sleuth, The Whole Sleuth, and Nothing But The Sleuth'. Revolving articles and columns include: Sleuth Craft Corner, Nancy Drew Fan Fic and Parodies, Convention Reports, Nancy Drew 101, Columns by Revolving Guest Columnists, submissions from members of the series book community, and reprints of favorite The Sleuth webzine articles. We're going to a print edition and double issues mailed 6 times per year as opposed to 12 per year, beginning with our September/October 2006 issue. Our premier issue will be mailed around October 1st to all subscribers. Regular columnists on tap include: webmaster of Around the World with Nancy Drew and foreign editions specialist Lea Fox, The Dark Side of River Heights author Renee Walker, longtime The Sleuth columnist Todd H. Latoski, The Nancy Drew Encyclopedia author Sharon Reid Harris, Series Books for Girls website author Jennifer White, and series zine contributor and book collector Rick Sayers. Guest columnists include: a Nancy Drew Mystery Columnist and Nancy Drew historian and The Sleuth editor Jennifer Fisher. We accept submissions on Nancy Drew and other girls' and boys' series--see submission info below. SPECIAL: If you subscribe by August 1st, 2006, you may take $2.00 off your total and you will be entered in a drawing for great Nancy Drew prizes--10 prizes will be awarded ranging from the 6 volume 75th anniversary Applewood Books boxed set to games, DVDs, and Nancy Drew licensee products. Winners will be notified and will receive their prizes by mid-September. 6 Double Issues: January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, and November/December. Each issue will be mailed on the 1st of the month of the second issue date, i.e. Feb. 1st, Apr. 1st, Jun. 1st, Aug. 1st, Oct. 1st, and Dec. 1st. Issues are 5 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" tall. For eye catching appeal, the cover, back cover, inside cover, and inside back cover pages will be on glossy white cardstock with full color printing. Pages inside are in b/w. Subscription Fees: For 6 double issues: $35.00/1 year ($60.00/2 years) for US subscribers, $40.00/1 year ($75.00/2 years) for non-US North American subscribers, and $42.00/1 year ($80.00/2 years) for overseas subscribers. Back issues: $5.00 each or 3/$12.00. Payment: If you want to pay via your bank account, please send a check or a money order (payable to Jennifer Fisher) rather than sending a Pay Pal due to Pay Pal fees. Submission Information for Articles and Ads: Articles should run 2 to 4 pages in length--that's actual printed pages of 5 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" tall sized pages with 1/2" margins all around. If it runs over 4 pages just a little, that's fine and in some cases a particular column or subject may warrant that. We also accept serial articles with each part appearing in future issues. One could also write Op-Ed style for an 800 to 1000 word limit. We prefer submissions to be sent as an e-mail attachment in Word or these can be mailed to us on a CD. (Word Perfect is ok. Please do not send PDF files.) Type article in Arial font--12 point. Book titles and anything that needs to be in italics should be formatted that way rather than underlining or using quotes. Any pictures to be used in the article should not be included within the article, and instead should be sent as separate files: jpgs or tiffs preferred. We have quite a few images related to Nancy Drew so check with us to see if we have an image you want to use with your article to avoid the task of having to send it. Ads can be submitted as PDF files or Word files. If using pictures in your ads, these should be included within ads--please submit it camera ready (ready to print). Ad fees: B/W inside page ads: Half page (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")=$10.00. Whole page (5 1/2" x 8 1/2")=$25.00. Back cover (full color) ad: whole page=$100.00. Inside back cover (full color) ad: whole page=$75.00. Discounted ad rates for long running ads: B/W inside pages: 3 issues/half page=$25.00, 3 issues/whole page=$70.00, 6 issues/half page=$50.00, 6 issues/whole page=$140.00. Full Color back cover: 3 issues=$275.00, 6 issues=$550.00, Full Color inside back cover: 3 issues=$210.00, 6 issues=$425.00.
